Located in Kyoto's Takaragaike area, just a short distance from Kokusaikaikan Station, Yubasen Takaragaike is a specialty yuba restaurant where guests can enjoy dishes prepared with homemade fresh Kyoto-style yuba and Kyoto vegetables sourced from contracted local farmers. Set within a comfortable space reminiscent of a refined Western-style restaurant, traditional Kyoto ingredients are reimagined through French-inspired course menus and approachable à la carte creations. Whether as part of your Kyoto sightseeing experience or during a peaceful moment shared with someone special, our cuisine is designed to complement life's memorable occasions.

Our signature "Freshly Lifted Yuba,"
carefully crafted by skilled artisans
We proudly serve additive-free yuba made in our own workshop using 100% domestically grown Japanese soybeans. The delicate film that forms on the surface of soy milk is gently lifted by hand, sheet by sheet, by our artisans. By layering this freshly lifted yuba, we create a silky texture with remarkable depth and a refined melt-in-your-mouth finish. Even first-time visitors can experience the authentic and delicate flavors that define Kyoto yuba.

Discover new ways to enjoy yuba,
including our popular "Yuba Gratin"
The charm of Yubasen Takaragaike lies in blending the elegance of traditional Kyoto cuisine with the light touch of French culinary inspiration. Alongside our signature "Warm Freshly Lifted Yuba," the branch's beloved "Yuba Gratin" replaces macaroni with layers of yuba, creating a rich and creamy dish with a uniquely delicate character. Combined with Kyoto vegetables sourced from contracted farmers in Kamigamo, seasonal fish, and beef tenderloin, these dishes offer exciting new ways to appreciate the versatility of yuba.

Kyoto vegetables from contracted farmers
paired with your choice of seasonal main course
We offer yuba course meals inspired by French dining, allowing guests to savor the changing flavors of the seasons while embracing the atmosphere of Kyoto. Our especially popular "Seasonal Course" (¥5,500) features not only our "Warm Freshly Lifted Yuba" and "Yuba Gratin," but also a choice of fish, meat, or tempura as the main course. Whether you are seeking a memorable lunch during your Kyoto travels or a slightly more special evening meal, this course is highly recommended.

Enjoy Kyoto at a leisurely pace within an elegant Western-inspired setting
Blending the sophistication of Western architecture with the tranquility of Japanese aesthetics, our restaurant offers a relaxing atmosphere accompanied by the gentle sounds of classical music. Overlooking lush greenery through the windows, it is an ideal retreat for those wishing to step away from the bustle of Kyoto and savor a peaceful dining experience. We also offer a private dining room accommodating 13 to 17 guests, making it suitable for sightseeing groups, business gatherings, and special celebrations alike.
